Copa America Final’21

As a Brazil supporter I did want the likes of Neymarjr and Richarlison to wear that gold medal and run across the ground enthusiastically creating an exquisite moment, but in the end it was Leo Messi and Angel Di Maria who got to share that moment as Neymar was left behind in tears. The 🇧🇷 winger deserved gold after missing out on his team’s victory in the 2019 #copaamerica on account of injury, and especially after the tremendously affluent performance he showcased in this season of the Copa including the grand finals. But he did not deserve it more than the 🇦🇷 skipper, one of the two GOAT s to have ever played the game of football.

Messi with a brilliant record of 4 ⚽ and 5 🅰️ in this competition for ARG, has been absolutely emphatic on the ground. His awesome playmaking abilities has always been appreciated, as we all have witnessed him make those in a 🔵🔴 shirt. But we hardly spied any appreciable performance from him in 🔵⚪ for any such performance never met the taste of success in the bigger stages. Today, finally it can be said that the legend is not a flop for ARG as he walks home with an international 🏆.

The #copaamericafinal saw brilliance from CMF DePaul and CB Romero who played avidly to help Argentina register victory against Brazil managing to defend their 1-goal lead which was aesthetically scored by DiMaria. GK EMI Martinez pulled quite a few dramatic yet stupendous saves. The entire ARG team played awesome and unified football with minimum errors.

The highlight of the evening (morning in 🇮🇳) was when the Argentine squad pulled up Messi on their shoulders and lifted him up, recognizing him for everything he has done for his country. Every ⚽ watcher across the 🌎 knows how desperately and deservedly he waited for this glory. Alas, it has arrived! However, it was not the only outstanding highlight as it was sooner accompanied by the 🐐 calling his family while sitting on the ground via his 📱 and letting them know of his win.

Then, he went and confronted his former teammate and extremely good friend NeymarJr sharing a long hug of friendship and sportsmanship. They shared a laugh later.
